[accidental video post]
[Klavier is perched on his chair in the crouched position several feet away from his desk and his computer. On his desk lies scattered papers and a rather large, plastic bug cage with a mesh top, inside of the cage are five dangerous looking bugs of the same species. Klavier is crouching in his chair with a very apprehensive look on his face while watching the bugs flutter around the cage.]
The horntail-butterfly…a death stalker, giant hornet…butterfly cross-breed [he began, speaking into a digital recording device] Cultivated at H.A.C.K. Corps…
[Pauses for a moment]
The horntail-butterfly has a bulb at the end of its tail covered with stings…there’s a particular nasty looking sting on the very end that resembles a black needle. When stung by that particular sting the horntail empties venom stored in the bulb of its tail into the…victim.
The horntail’s venom is potent enough to kill a man in less than an hour. Nice of the lab to provide me with five samples, ja?
[Another brief pause]
Traces of horntail venom was discovered during the autopsies of Doctor Nioklai McPherson, the first victim, and Prosecutor Tristian Bell—the second victim and original prosecutor for this case…
[Turns the recording device off and stares down the caged horntail-butterflies as though they may hold the clues.]
All fingers are pointed at Rodger Henley, custodian at H.A.C.K. and the suspect accused of the murders…a vial of venom extract and a syringe were discovered among his belongings. He had a motive too.
The Doctor had it all, didn’t he?
The looks, skills, a prestigious career, a gross display of wealth…heh…sounds like me…ah and the fangirl-ish affections of our custodian’s sweetheart…the good Doctor must have gone to Le Klavier Finishing School!
[Attempts to relax a bit, but the sudden movement causes an uproar in the horntail-butterflies and they begin to beat around in the cage. Klavier jumps back into his high-alert crouching position on the chair]
Relax freunde, no need to get hostile.
[Of course he is very aware of how stupid this is as they’re bugs and he’s a human…all he needs is a giant flyswatter and *splat* they’re wallpaper! Still, they’re dangerous, man-killers…but they’re in a cage…but they could get out…but the cage is secure…but…they’re ugly!]
One thing doesn’t make sense and that’s the dead prosecutor…Herr Bell. Henley was imprisoned after the murder of Doctor McPherson. So how could he have committed the second murder from behind bars? It’s possible…if my brother could do it…but my brother wasn’t a janitor…and it was kind of a fluke.
There are only two explanations that make sense [still addressing the horntails as though they were listening] either Henley wasn’t alone and he had a partner in crime…in which case the partner is still out there. Or Henley didn’t do it and the killer hasn’t been caught. Either way there’s someone still out there, ja?
Something still isn’t right here [taps his chin thoughtfully] Herr Bell, the original prosecutor for the case. He didn’t have a connection to Doctor McPherson or Henley or H.A.C.K…not that I’m aware of.
Yet, anyway.
He must have known something…what did Prosecutor Bell know that I don’t?
[ooc:Klavier's having a mini crisis, I can't go into all of the details of said crisis right now, but when I get a minute I'll be sure to fill in the little gaps.]

Is everything okay, Klavier?
Just...out of curiosity, what are you going to do with those butterflies when you're done with them?

I'm alright, I'm just not used to sharing my office with...beasties. The case I'm working on is a bit strange too, after the first prosecutor's murder they assigned it to me. It seems like a challenge.
I haven't thought that far ahead, currently they're evidence. If H.A.C.K wants them back they're going to have to come and remove them, otherwise...well...I don't know what to do with them really.

The killer murdered the last prosecutor? Take care of yourself, Klavier.

Yes, that's the one thing I cannot figure out, the last prosecutor...Tristian Bell. He didn't seem to have any connection to the victim or the suspect...he's an unrelated party so...well It's probably just a fluke. I should be alright.

Huh, he wasn't killed because he was investigating the case?

That's a mystery, the only link between the three would be the venom they found in the prosecutor's body. On top of that the suspect was in prison at the time of Herr Bell's murder. I have several theories and just as many dead-ends. It could be that there is someone else out there and it could be that Herr Bell knew something. I don't know yet, I still have some digging to do.
