Hope everyone had a happy holiday. I was pleasantly surprised by my oma and opa this year. They flew all the way out to L.A. to see me...and bless them, they didn't bring my parents.

I didn't get back to the office until late this afternoon so it was a nice treat to find presents for me there too.

Henry, the book you put together is amazing, I'm sure it took you a while to find all of those compositions and put them all together like this.

That mirror you gave me, Herr Greed, is absurd...I love it. I spent an entire afternoon putting things in front of it...and I've found a very practical use for it.

Herr Justice, I'm not sure who Sheryl Nome is, but the CD was superb and so were the plecks! As for the finger painting...I wonder who gave you that bit of inspiration. It's going on my wall in the office!

Daryan I had a nice chat, sorry I couldn't stay a little longer, but visiting time was limited. Hope you enjoyed the gifts.

Danke Schön!

On a more serious note...is it un-neighborly to want to put up a hedge between your home and your new neighbor's home? I say this because I have these new neighbors...moved in not too long ago and they have a very interesting lifestyle. They're nice people and all but... I did get some very unhelpful advice when I went to the office. An associate of mine told me to write an anonymous letter...a brilliant idea in theory until you get down to the writing:

Dear Neighbors,

Not that I don't enjoy the view, but your bedroom window looks right into my bedroom window. I would be much obliged if you'd invest in some curtains.

Signed,

You can see the gaping holes in this can't you? And it's like watching a train wreck, you don't really want to, but when it's there for all the world to see it it's just kind of hard to look away. Then you want to go burn your corneas out with some liquid plumber. You see the dilemma?

And here I was thinking it was just me. I'm quite fond of him, don't get me wrong.

I can appreciate a good book, but his writing turns my stomach a bit. I guess it's because no one wants to believe this is the accurate portrayal of man. I think he embellished too much.

Nope, it's not just you! Greed's convinced that he makes perfect sense to everyone else, when he really only makes sense to himself.

I don't like the notion that one can make such sweeping generalizations about all men or all women. It's incredibly sexist on both counts.

What a relief.

Ah yes, and I've noticed how often he tends to torture women in his stories. It's no wonder he's banned in several countries.

Of course, I also have issue with that sort of treatment toward women. Even if I wasn't a woman... That's just not how a gentleman should behave toward a lady.

A man is not a man if he can treat a woman...or anyone else like dirt beneath their feet. That's true...Greed's usually quite gentle where women are concerned...it's probably the reaction he was looking to get.

Spoken like a true gentleman after my own heart. If only more people, both men and women, took up such an attitude...

The world would be a much better place to live in if everyone had such a disposition. I guess it's because Greed thinks in terms of greed so his outlook on things is somewhat different.

Certainly, although some people would argue it would make the world a very boring place, if that were true...
