[As the camera cuts on, the scene that plays out is a highly unusual one and more than a little uncharacteristic where Klavier is concerned.

What’s highly unusual about the situation is that Klavier is presently in an ICU unit with a large glass window separating the viewer from the events inside of the room and preventing them from fully understanding what is going on. Even if you could hear anything it would take a really adept ear to pick up on the frenzied muddle of conversation.

So what is Klavier doing in ICU? Well presently it’s uncertain why, but there’s a struggle going on between the doctors, nurses and everyone’s favorite ex-rocker/prosecutor who they are trying to pin to the bed. Unfortunately Klavier seems to be going out of his way to give his caretakers a hard time. One of the nurses, male, has the misfortune of putting his face in the path of the prosecutor’s fist resulting in what would probably be a nasty black-eye later. Several other nurses are thrown off or knocked out of the way during the struggle.

In between slugging it out with the hospital faculty he is further hampering them by ripping off his electrodes and pulling out his IV until he’s forcefully slammed down and his wrists and ankles are restrained. A nurse can be seen jabbing a needle into his arm which is obviously a sedative of some sort because it doesn’t take long for his body to go limp and the struggling to cease.

Not much can be seen afterward because blinds are closed, but there is a small queue of people ready to harass the doctor once he steps out into the hallway. This may illuminate the situation a little bit, but for the most part the following conversation is somewhat vague:]

So, what’s wrong with him?

We’re not really sure at this point; he has a laundry list of symptoms including light sensitivity, confusion, delirium, convulsions, headaches, tachycardia, and there could be others. It seems consistent with the other patients who were at The Alinea...we’re still trying to find the common source…

You know, there were some important diplomats from Europe there, I understand the Minister’s wife was also…

You think someone did this on purpose?

It could be. You think Prosecutor Gavin will be up to the task if this turns out to be a CI?

We don’t even know who the criminal is if there is one.

Or why those people got sick, for all we know the monkfish could have been bad.

Or if Prosecutor Gavin will even feel up to the task.

We’re getting a little ahead of ourselves, we have to find out what’s wrong with the patients first and then you can determine whether it was an accident or if there was some kind of criminal activity involved...

[The feed cuts off with the ongoing conspiracy and a doctor who is being completely dismissed.]

Eh...but you came...you had things you said you had to do though. Did you do them already or are you going to do them later?

Aa. I came. But I'm not the kinda thing who's gotta run to somethin' important when there's trouble. So, concern's not the reason I'm here.

Ah...I guess it 's more like...assessing the damage with your own two eyes, ja?

It is pretty bad.

Deadly nightshade poisoning isn't a joke, it's not quite as bad as Hemlock and the berries aren't the most poisonous part of the plant, but it's still pretty nasty stuff. I can't make it sound good, even if I want to for your sake.

[His fists curl in the blanket, but he keeps his facial expression bland enough.] Scared?

The truth? I am a little, even more when I came here, but it can't be helped. I like having control over things to a degree and I can't control any of this and it scares me.

A--.... [Tongue click. Having given up on whatever he planned to try to say, he shifts, considering patting him, then seems to think twice about touching him. After moments of increasing, stomach knotting tension, suddenly Greed blinks and nabs the hem of the blanket, whipping it up to check.] So are you even wearing pants or anything?

[Pulling the sheets up is one way to break the tension and it startles Klavier, though the most he can do about it is bend his knees a little bit. This was the only truly frustrating part of being restrained] E...well...no, it's a hospital gown, they don't normally come with pants...just a front with sleeves and ties in the back...easier I...guess...

[Fortunately Greed doesn't feel the need to examine his state of dress too thoroughly. Watching him squirm helplessly is enough to perk him back into an up beat mood. He's still holding up the sheet an exposing Klavier to a nice embarrassing draft, but at least he's not bent down and checking out the view.] Take it yer gonna get sponge bathed while yer here, eh? Since they can't even let'cha scratch yerself... Hey, is the nurse cute? I'll go ahead and leave you some money after all if you need it to tip the nurse afterwards.

[The draft is cause enough for Klavier to attempt to shift onto his side a little bit, or as much as he can manage, though it's woefully unsuccessful so he struggles a little bit, the slight exertion being indicated by the noise of the monitors] Hn...well the sponge baths are a perk I guess, but you wouldn't normally tip a nurse...that sort of thing is already bought and paid for. I haven't really noticed their looks though, some are men and others are women and then you have the occasional gorilla who is incredibly strict.

[Still holding up the sheet, he takes a moment to point with a free hand towards the beeping monitor.] Should I worry about that?

[Klavier stilled, looking at Greed, confused by what he was referring to until he heard the monitor and turned his head] Hn...well one of the symptoms was tachycardia, so they have these electrodes on my chest and I'm hooked up to their heart monitor. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with that.

Should I stop?

I don't know...what are you doing?

[He has to think about that a minute before answering decisively.] Checking you out.

Hm...but you don't seem to be looking at anything...in any case I'm not sure.

You're really un-hot today. But unless this thing gives you a rash, I figured maybe if we just cover yer face... [The blanket is flung over his head.] There might be somethin' I can work with.

It's not...well I told you it's not something I can help today. My looks...and my personality are effected [Klavier makes an indignant sound, followed by a soft intake of air, but the only subtle indicator of his usual excitement is his toes curling against the mattress] Herr?

Here we go! [One hand pushes down on the bed to make it creek and give him the blind feel of another body's weight on the bed with him. It's a lot harder to fake on a small, springless hospital twin mattress than a traditional and properly king-sized bed, unfortunately.]

[Not sure what to expect at the impression of another body in his bed, though it's really only Greed's weight, Klavier shudders, some kind of soft vague sound escaping him as he shifts towards the pressure.]

[Tempting as it is to hop onto the bed with him or straddle him just to play it up a little further, Klavier's mess of wires and the IV have Greed cautious enough to pass. In the next moment, he plucks the bed sheet off of Klavier's face to let him see again.] Iya. It's no good if I don't get your face, after all.

[If anything Klavier can be grateful that the light is dim enough to disguise how flushed he was from such a brief possibility, but it couldn't disuse his uneven breathing of how slightly unraveled he became] Is my face an important factor?

[As long as the patient's face isn't hooked to anything, there's no problem. Riding the high of getting him worked up, it's easy to nab Klavier's chin and loom over him shamelessly.] Incredibly important.

Guess I underestimated how visual you are [Klavier watches Greed through lidded eyes and after a moment he nudges his chin against his companion's hand until he's in a good position to nip Greed's fingers. He's not content to just lay there and be loomed over after all.]
